Rooms
The Nest (Birth – 1 year) →

The Nest (Birth – 1 year)
The Nest is a relaxing and supportive space where your baby will spend time with their key person participating in a range of reassuring activities like baby spa sessions and daily massage.
They can also safely investigate the space around them to access a range of resources and will learn social skills through games, rhymes, rhythm and songs.
Your baby’s physical development will also be supported through activities that help them reach key milestones like lifting their head, rolling over, and sitting unaided. Their grasp will also be refined, so that by the time they leave our baby room, they can pick up small objects with precision using their thumb and forefinger in a pincer grip.
The Atelier (2 – 3 years) →

The Atelier (2 – 3 years)
Between two and three years of age, your child will begin to expand their understanding of words and vocabulary, so in The Atelier our experienced practitioners place a strong emphasis on the development of communication skills.
Their growth in this area and their overall development is supported through a range of engaging, fun and meaningful activities.
This includes ample opportunities for physical movement through dance classes and outdoor play. To help with self-regulation, we also practice yoga daily, encouraging mindfulness and calm in a developmentally appropriate way.
The Nook (1 – 2 years) →

The Nook (1 – 2 years)
The Nook is a beautifully arranged room with soft play features designed to support your child’s development.
At this stage, your child will be learning to control their body, and we will enhance this through yoga and dance sessions, as well as outdoor activities to develop gross motor skills.
We will also focus on your child’s communication and language development. All our practitioners are trained in Sing and Sign and will use a wide range of Makaton signs to support your child’s communication, understanding, and early social interactions.
The Academy (3-5 years) →

The Academy (3-5 years)
The Academy is our preschool room, which is designed to help your child become school ready through activities that develop fine motor skills, such as pre-writing exercises to strengthen their hands and fingers, and gross motor movements like running and skipping to build core strength for sitting upright during lessons.
Your child will also enjoy storytelling, learning three core stories to recite, laying strong foundations for literacy.
As a multicultural classroom, we celebrate diversity through play, activities, and our Pen Pals program with a nursery in the Netherlands, while fostering independence and compassion. We also offer weekly Spanish lessons.
Nursery managers
Kelly Casemore and her daughter Tiana Mitchell co-manage Bambinos Day Nursery at Houndiscombe Road.
Kelly joined Bambinos in 2017 as an apprentice, progressing through various roles, including Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and deputy manager of our Plymstock nursery, before moving to Houndiscombe Road.
Tiana, who began her career as an apprentice after gaining a passion for childcare during a volunteer trip to Kenya, also advanced through multiple roles, including deputy manager, before taking on her current position.
After becoming a mother herself, Tiana returned to work alongside Kelly, bringing a shared dedication to supporting children’s development and preparing them for school.

Parking
There is on road parking at the front of the nursery and a small car park at the rear for pre-school drop off and pick up. Our building is also wheelchair accessible.
