At Bambinos Day Nursery in Tavistock, we provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children from birth to five feel happy, safe, and secure.
Our skilled early years practitioners prioritise developing each child’s personal, social, and emotional skills, helping them learn to regulate their emotions, understand their behaviour, and build positive relationships with others.
Our team closely monitors each child’s development, creating individualised plans that empower them to progress at their own pace.
Throughout the year, we offer a variety of extra-curricular activities for all age groups. Younger children can enjoy relaxing sessions such as baby spa and baby massage, while older children can participate in gardening and baking clubs, sparking curiosity and fostering practical skills essential for well-rounded development.
Rooms
The Nest (Birth – 2 years) →
The Nest (Birth – 2 years)
Your child will feel safe and well cared for in the warm and welcoming environment of The Nest.
With their key person beside them to support them at all times, your child’s development will be encouraged through a range of stimulating activities that focus on helping them achieve significant milestones like raising their head, rolling over, sitting unaided and using their pincer grip.
Your child will also have plenty of opportunity for socialisation and early communication through shared nursery rhymes, games and songs, and will have the chance to relax and recharge with our calming baby massage and spa sessions.
The Retreat (2-3 years) →
The Retreat (2-3 years)
The Retreat offers a range of exciting resources like a home corner with a toy kitchen, a drawing area for mark making, and a story corner to support early literacy.
Adjoined to the Retreat is the Snug, a cosy room for stories, circle time, yoga, and nap time, where calming music will help your child drift off to sleep.
The Atelier, another playroom, is a creative space for drawing, painting, gluing, and daily playdough activities.
Attached to this room is the nappy/toilet area, making it ideal for potty training, allowing children easy access to potties/toilets with practitioner support, when needed.
The Nook and The Cloud (Birth – 2 years) →
The Nook and The Cloud (Birth – 2 years)
In the Nook, supervised fun is the order of the day. It is a space designed entirely for art and messy play, where your child will get to explore a range of interesting resources to ignite their senses.
Having fun (and learning at the same time) is exhausting for your little one, so when we spot the tell-tale signs that they need a sleep, they will be transported to our cosy Cloud room, where they can drift off for a much-needed snooze.
The Studio (3-5 years) →
The Studio (3-5 years)
The Studio incorporates Studio 1, Studio 2, and The Atelier.
Studio 1 is a cosy space with a story corner where we do circle time and self-registration (your child will register themselves as present in the morning and after lunch).
If your child loves numbers, they will adore Studio 2, which is full of fun mathematical puzzles and activities for them to explore.
For budding artists, The Atelier room is very popular. It is a creative space full of arts and crafts resources and activities, where imagination and mess go hand-in-hand.
This room also hosts our weekly baking club.
Meet Marni: Nursery Manager
I’m a mum to two young boys, and as a family we love long walks with our dog, especially trips to the beach. When we’re not out exploring, you’ll usually find me enjoying a good book.
I have always been passionate about working with children and being part of their early development. I began my career in Early Years over 10 years ago as an apprentice, also working as 1:1 support for children diagnosed with Autism. After qualifying, I became a Team Leader in an under-twos room before progressing to Nursery Manager.
Following our family move to Devon, I worked as Team Leader in a 2–3 years room and am now proud to continue my journey as Nursery Manager at Tavistock.
I believe every child is unique, and that the early years are a vital time for developing the core skills that will carry them through life. Creating a nursery environment that feels like a home from home, where children feel safe, excited, and free to explore, helps them grow in confidence and curiosity, reaching their full potential.
The most rewarding part of my role is supporting both families and my team. Whether sharing experience, offering reassurance, or celebrating achievements, I feel privileged to play a part in children’s early years, a time that is truly special.

Parking
There is on road parking at the front of the nursery and a garage at the rear with parking space for two cars.
